Application
HMK S245 is a ready to use solvent free pre-grout treatment. It reduces the penetration of grout into the surface of highly absorbent and rough sandstone, limestone, bricks, terracotta and clay tiles.S245 facilitates the subsequent cleaning and general maintenance of the surface. For internal and external use. Not for use on dense stone or dark colored natural and cast stone. HMK S234 Stain Protection -extra should be used in these cases.
Instructions
If under floor heating exists, switch it off and ensure the surface is cool and dry. Ensure the surface is clean. Before the grout is applied, paint HMK S245 using a roller with short fibres evenly and thinly across the surface of the stone. Do not overlap application, allow puddles to form or apply twice. Do not allow white marks to form as they cannot be removed subsequently. Allow HMK S245 to dry for around 12 hours before grouting. To clean surface thoroughly after the grout is applied use HMK R155 Intensive Cleaner - acid free. Important: Do not walk on the treated surface for 12 hours after treatment is applied and dried. Small traces of HMK S245 that run into the joint during the application process, do not affect the effectiveness of the grout.
Warning
Chemical product. Contains potassium hydroxide. Corrosive. Avoid eye and skin contact. If exposed wash/flush with water. Keep out of the reach of children and safe from frost.
Testing
Always test the product in an inconspicuous area to evaluate suitability, coverage and performance. Store in cool place and keep lid tightly closed.
